Memoirs

Memoirs
One luminous afternoon in 2011 my cousin and I were at my house, we were sitting on the couch in the livingroom. We were so bored, so we were looking for something to do, I walked outside around the backyard looking to see if there were any basketballs or rugby balls to kick or throw around, but they were all flat or on top of a roof. My cousin couldn’t find anything to do, so we grabbed my sister’s fake camera and went to the beach.

As I put on my shoes, I was thinking of what to do at the beach, then I came up with the perfect idea to see how far can I throw the camera into the sea! We started walking over to Blaketown School, walking through the field over to the tree’s. We walked to the gate and started running towards the beach. As soon as we got there we were doing flips and jumping off the hills, then I took my shoes off. I started walking down to the sand, then I threw it. It didn’t go as far as I wanted it tom but atleast I can’t see it.

I yelled out to my cousin to get me my shoes but he was jumping off the tall sandhills. So I walked to get them. As I was almost there I stood on what to be this seaweed stuff, I didn’t know exactly what it was but it cut the bottom of my foot. I was screaming in pain, I saw blood pouring out. I started to cry, my cousin saw and he told me to stay there as he ran back to my house to get my mum.

I knew I couldn’t stay here, so as I tried to walk as fast as I could to my shoes and get back to my house. When I got there my mum took my to the hose out the back and sprayed it for about 5 minutes, before that there was a lot of blood behind me but as soon as I could, I wanted to get the blood away. Hours later I was laying on the couch with my foot covered up with this bandage stuff. Whenever I tried to walk it felt like a nail going into the bottom of my foot, so for 2 days I was laying on the couch watching tv.

The next day I went to the hospital to see what was in my foot, as soon as I walked into the room I saw needles on the shelf. After a little bit of talking about what happened, it was time for the stuff to come out, so she grabbed these needle/tweezer things and started. As soon as I felt a poke, I screamed the hospital down. After it was all over, I was glad, the stuff the lady pulled out was this seaweed stuff.

When I went home I was so relieved, I could walk without it feeling like a nail going into my foot. After a few hours of staying home I went back to the beach and this time didn’t take off my shoes, so I wouldn’t get hurt anymore. Then after an hour or less I went back to my house without a bleeding foot.

From that experience I know not to take off my shoes when I throw a fake camera into the Ocean, and to make sure I can avoid any sharp objects like nails or screws on the ground or in garages.
